This means it is now legal in all formats. LONG ANSWERS: ======================================================================= [Bob Terrell, asking about foils] >I've noticed that some foil cards don't have the foil printed very well on >them. The shine stops at one point and continues if you turn the card more. >Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? It seems to be rather common. This is standard on many foil cards. It's a result of the manufacturing process. I can't tell exactly what causes the defect, but it is likely to be a slight tolerance during the printing of the foil film - it's probably made in some kind of press, or with a pattern wrapped around a roller. The error comes at various places along the card. >Does this count as a misprint? No, it's not a misprint. ----- [Mario Cravinhos, asking about power/toughness] >-1/0? I thought it was 0/0... An example: I have a 1/3 creature with a -2/-2 >counter and cast a giant growth on it. What will be the final p/w of this >creature? 3/4 or 2/4? It will be a 2/4 creature. 1/3 + -2/-2 + +3/+3 = 2/4. ----- [Jolly Joe Jim Bob, asking about removing sources] >if i have a crypt rat and activate it then in responce i activate my rishadan >pawnshop and target the crypt rat... > >the rat should go back into my library and the one or more black that i put >into it should go off, right ? That's correct. Removing the source of the effect will not prevent the effect. ----- [Bob Terrell, asking about errors on the WotC website] >Okay, so I'm looking on the Wizards web site to find out what cards are >currently banned in Type II, and I come across >http://www.wizards.com/DCI/oracle/Standard%202_1_00.txt which is supposed to >include only tournament legal cards. It includes Time Spiral, Tolarian >Academy, and others. This is correct - the Oracle includes all cards from all legal sets in each of its compilations. It's not meant to be a guide to which cards are banned. You want the Floor Rules or the B&R lists for that. > So I look in the DCI Floor Rules at >http://www.wizards.com/DCI/UTR_MTG.asp and discover that it hasn't been >updated since Tempest was legal. Is there something I'm missing or are the B&R >lists no longer in the DCI part of the website? You're looking in the wrong place. Everything that you need to know for a tournament can be found on http:www.wizards.com/dci/judge (except the url of your decklist, of course). Of course, the links you found _are_ errors - I'll point them out. ----- [Alex, asking two questions] >Soceress Queen can make another creature a 0/2, but it says that any >special characteristics or enchantments on the creature are unaffected. This is an old wording for Sorceress Queen. It just makes creatures 0/2 now. >Does this mean at a 3/3 creature with an enchantment on it giving it >+2/+2 become a 0/2 or a 2/4? It'llbe a 0/2, unless the enchantment was put onto it after the Queen's ability resolved, in which case it will be a 2/4. >If you attack with a creature and someone uptaps it does it mean it >doesn't attack or still attacks but does tap? It's still attacking, but is now untapped. This means that if it survives, it will be able to block too, so it's not the best play for your opponent.
